Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
(Luke 6:36)
Mercy and forgiveness accompany each other. If you are righteous and without sin then mercy is not a need you would have. But we ll fail from time to time and we ask our Heavenly Father to be merciful to us; and His mercies are new every morning Great is His Faithfulness. Now we are called to extend the same mercy we have been given to those who are in need of mercy: freely we have been given and freely we are to give as well.
If you need any more encouragement to show mercy remember that blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy. So why is it so easy to ask and receive mercy yet when the same is requested of us we want to put conditions: demand for proof of the person to deserve mercy. May God help us to be merciful just as our Heavenly Father is merciful.
Question for the Day: How can you teach your child/ren to be merciful just as our Heavenly Father is merciful today?
PRAYER:
Dear Father, thank you for your mercies that are new every morning. It is because of your mercies, your loving kindness that we are not consumed. Father, help us to be like you: merciful just as you are merciful. Help us to teach our children to show mercy to all those around them. Help us to glorify you as we show mercy. In Jesus Name we Ask, Amen.
