Proverbs 16:3

On Saturday 8th July 2017 at Daystar University, Nairobi Campus surrounded by friends and family and only by the grace of God my first book (self published) KENYA NATIONAL ANTHEM, DEVOTIONAL was launched.

aririririririririririri aririririririririri ariririririririri ariririririririririri (ululations, I am a girl so I get four ????)

God did it for us. He walked with me and with us from idea conception to the launch and even after He still is with me and us. I a in awe of His kindness to me, especially knowing how frail and trivial and disobedient and unfaithful I can be with Him.

I call Him Father, and He has been a Good Good Father to me.

My core team of Sammy, Nungari and James have worked tirelessly to see the project come through. Amazing people, they are my family and my tribe. I am not sure I thank them enough. But Nancy keeps encouraging me, my success is a major thank you so I better succeed.

Only by God, we accomplished a major milestone.

My dear mother and friend Margaret (I will write about her one of these fine days) was a powerhouse of prayer. She prayed this project through. Followed me up every day, sometimes many times during the day to see the progress. She is amazing, I love her, I treasure her, I honor her.

So, back to the book launch . . .

We set the first date and had to cancel it because many of the people we desired to attend were engaged…

We set the second date and the count down began . . .

Finalizing book designs, getting endorsements, locking down a printer, looking for finances, venue, vendors for the day…

Pause . . .

Meet Angela Wakonyo, my dear friend. She is an amazing, amazing, absolutely amazing human being, She is loyal, she is true, the real deal. She made breakfast for the event, I have only heard praises about it.

D-Day comes

set time is 8-11am

8am – a few people trickle in

Ken Gakuru so enthusiastic is one of the first to arrive. The energy he comes with, revitalizing. He has a story, that we need to document. Scratch that. He has a story, that we must document, we must.

Almost 9am – I start pacing, praying. I call my husband Sammy and ask him “Do you think they will show up?”

He says, “Yes” and walks away….I am not sure if he has left to pick them up ?????

A few minutes past 9am – they literally flood in and the event begins

…..

God has dealt kindly with me, He has.

I am humbled. I am in awe

I am so so grateful

Fiona Masai, my beautiful friend who is a living testimony: a walking talking miracle I call her, had this to say about the book:

I have always known that our national anthem is a prayer, but that was just head knowledge. This devotion breaks it down so well, I have been ushered past head knowledge to a place of personal responsibility, to be a better Kenyan and more so to be better at praying for my motherland. – Fiona Masai
